My Approach & Theoretical Orientation

My approach to therapy is Trauma Informed and Client Centered.  I have been working in the Mental Health/Addictions field for over seven years after graduating from the Master's Program at MSU-B in Mental Health & Rehabilitation Counseling.  I've worked with a variety of clients including adults, adolescents, children and families.  I know life can be difficult at times and it helps to have someone to guide you on your journey.  Whether you are dealing with the loss of a loved one, depression, anxiety, trauma, addictions, family issues or other concerns; I'm here to help and support you.  I use a number of different therapies depending on the client's individualized needs. Some of the treatment modalities I utilize are:

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
  • CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)
  • Play Therapy & Sandplay Therapy
  • Seeking Safety/Trauma Focused
  • Stress Reduction Techniques
  • Solution Focused Brief Therapy
  • Motivational Interviewing
  • Art Therapy
  • Mindfulness

My Story

I was born and raised in Billings Montana and enjoy the beauty of Big Sky Country. I count my blessings daily and am grateful to be surrounded by family and friends. I take pleasure in the arts, cinema, music, laughing, and spending quality time with my loved ones.  I obtained my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education with specialization in Early Childhood Studies and enjoy working with children. I also had the opportunity to work with adolescents in an inpatient addictions treatment setting after going back to graduate school to study counseling. Teenagers face so many complex issues and can benefit from support from someone who is non-judgmental and cares.   After acquiring my mental health license, I began working with adults with co-occurring disorders in individual and group counseling.   My passion has always been helping others and through my personal life struggles, I have gained a compassionate perspective on life. I believe every struggle I've faced has taught me valuable lessons and helped me to become humble, empathetic, and tenacious in everything I do. If you are searching for a counselor with these qualities to help you or your loved one, I look forward to meeting you.
